Open Source

Advantage

Thinking of outsourcing your software needs to an off-shore company like us? Here are some points that you should keep in mind while selecting an offshore partner…and why outsourcing to Open Source Development, in particular, makes good business sense.

Customer Perspective

A one-solution fits-all does not work in this dynamic and changing environment!

At Open Source Development, customer focus is of primary importance. We look at projects from a client’s point of view. We understand that every project is different from the other and that each has a different set of business goals. We keep these differences in mind while tailoring a solution to individual requirements.

Experience

The success of an offshore project depends to a large extent on the experience of the provider and their level of comfort in working across multiple time-zones.

The experience and expertise of our team of open source professionals is extensive; starting with a small team of two, our team now consists of around 60 qualified professionals ranging from project managers to team leads, senior developers and associate developers.

We have delivered a variety of solutions, e-commerce solutions, business applications, travel solutions, social networking solution and many more to a global clientele ranging from startups to established firms and government organizations.

Effective Communication Channel

For the success of any outsourcing project, a clear and transparent communication channel is essential.

At Icreon, we lay emphasis on an open communication with all our clients. In addition to voice communication via telephone, Skype etc, we also emphasize on written communication (e-mails and documentation) as it is less prone to misinterpretation.

In addition, for the duration of the project, we provide periodic status reports, allowing clients to track work progress. Project time-sheets (detailing the time spent by team members on various project related activities) are also sent to clients.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance (QA) ensures the delivery of solutions that meet the set standards.

The QA process is an integral one at Open Source Development; we have in place standards and guidelines (for coding, design as well as documentation) as well as software development methodologies that ensure delivery of quality products. Our team of QA professionals periodically conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance.

Recommendations

We enagaed with Icreon in the summer of 2009 to build a new aspect for our Saddlery company, the brief was to come up with a suitable adaptable ecommerce solution and also a community site for members. We had unfourtnately engaged a cheap off the shelf solution prior to talking with Icreon. After quickly working out that the off the shelf solution would not work, Our in house designers and Icreon set to work to remake the project. In my opinion I have never been more impressed by a company.
